This policy describes the Step One 2 Published website operated by Teri Busse. It applies to this replacement website, not your account or activity on the separate Launchyard site.
What stays in your browser
Your checklist selections and selected writing program are stored in your browser on your device. They are not sent to a Step One account or synchronized between devices. This site does not have a visitor account system.
Search runs against a downloaded index of site content. Calculator inputs and results are processed on the page and are not uploaded or saved to a Step One database. This site does not upload, read, or store your manuscript.
To remove saved choices, reset individual checklists or clear this website’s site data in your browser settings. Clearing site data can erase progress permanently; we cannot recover a device-local copy. On a shared device, other users of the same browser profile may see those choices.
Email you choose to send
Contact and Feedback links open your email app. Nothing is sent until you send it there. If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you include, and use it to respond or address your feedback. Avoid sending passwords or sensitive manuscript material.
Email is handled by our email provider as well as yours. We retain correspondence as needed to respond and administer the site; contact us if you want to discuss access or deletion. We do not use this website to sell personal information.
Hosting and external services
This site is hosted through OpenAI Sites. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical request information, such as an IP address, browser information, and access times, to deliver and secure the service. Their own policies apply to their processing. OpenAI Privacy Policy ↗
We have not added advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts to the website. Necessary hosting or access features may use cookies or similar technologies controlled by the platform.
Videos and outside resources open on their own websites; there are no automatically loaded video embeds here. If you follow a link to YouTube, Vimeo, a publishing platform, or another provider, its privacy practices and account requirements apply.
